The educational sponsorship signing ceremony and SMC Automation Lab opening ceremony
On the morning of July 16, 2020, at The University of Danang, University of Science and Technology (DUT), the Educational Sponsorship Signing Ceremony between the University and the SMC Corporation Vietnam and the SMC Automation Laboratory Opening Ceremony took place.
Attending the ceremony, the representatives of SMC Corporation included Mr. Gerald Ho – General Director of SMC Corporation Vietnam, Mr. Van Viet Huan – Manager of SMC Corporation Vietnam (Danang Branch). On the side of DUT, there were Assoc. Prof. Doan Quang Vinh – Rector of DUT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Duc Binh – Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (FME), along with the leaders of other Departments, lecturers and students of the University.
The SMC Automation lab, sponsored by the SMC Corporation, is located at the Institute of Mechanical Technology and Automation – DUT with the value of 1.5 billion VND. Equipment includes 05 experimental stations for automation – pressurized air, 05 sets of test kits stimulating technologies in pneumatic engineering and cross-sections of pneumatic equipment for teaching.
Also on this occasion, SMC Corporation Vietnam also signed a contract with DUT on the scholarship program as well as equipment for students of FME to do graduation projects.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Quang Vinh – Rector of the University highly appreciates the support of SMC, especially in the context of the strong ongoing Industrial Revolution 4.0, prompting universities to actively change programs. training as well as teaching methods, linking teaching and learning activities with factory practice to train engineers who can immediately meet the requirements of the business.
Mr. Gerald Ho – General Director of SMC Corporation Vietnam said that making contributions to the community, especially in the education sector, is one of the company’s missions. SMC Automation lab is the fourth laboratory at Universities in Vietnam and the first in the Central region. The company has been and will continue to share the latest technologies in the market, contributing to the training of excellent engineers in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics Engineering.
